Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! It has been a busy summer, hence this recap coming out almost a month late… My life has been so lively and full recently, and I hope to get back into my normal posts, not just monthly recaps. However, to those who are still reading, thank you for tagging along! I hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my little adventures and whatnots and stay tuned for when we get back on track!
Adventures
Independence Day
Due to rainy weather, we couldn’t watch my younger sister in a local parade as we typically do, but we still went down to see my family before joining my husband’s family at his uncle’s house. A storm held off so we could swim a bit, enjoy family time outdoors, and we even went down to the city to watch fireworks! It was said to be the biggest of all time, but we could barely see any due to humidity in the air causing the smoke to cling, obscuring fireworks as time went on. It was more humorous than disappointing, but that’s partly because, from our perch, we could see fireworks from multiple spots in the city!
Another Free Concert
The Symphony Orchestra had a free concert at a local park where they played some patriotic and/or historical pieces. My husband and I watched and were joined by my dad, my younger brother, and my younger sister, Briana. Again, any rain or storms held off so we could enjoy the orchestra, AND the drone show they displayed afterward! It was a lovely way to end a patriotic weekend!
Sisters at the Beach!
Briana and I decided to go to one of the only beaches on our side of the state for a girl’s day. We had to go on quite the adventure to get boba, and then jimmy-rig a swimsuit, because I left mine at my husband’s uncle’s house, but it was a wonderful time! There was a live music event on the beach later in the evening, but we got there in time to find a spot on the not-too-crowded beach, swim, then take a little nap in the sun! When we woke up, the beach was chock-full, which was quite the surprise, but then we could enjoy food from the food trucks, live music, and we even built a sandcastle for the first time!

Birthday Celebrations
It was my birthday month! My actual birthday was while I was away, but I celebrated with my family the Sunday before I left with some homemade Tuscan chicken, a beautiful cake designed by my sister, Emma, and some gift-giving. When I came back from my trip, I went to Burgatory with my husband and his family! I got a delicious burger and a free milkshake!
Fairmont, WV
I will write more about this trip in its own post, like usual, but I was so happy to have gone to Fairmont for my eleventh year now! We worked on two different houses mainly, and my birthday happened to fall on our half-day, so that was an extra bonus! I love any time I get on this trip, and I’m alway looking forward to the next year!
