Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! This year seems to be speeding up suddenly, but I think that just happens after the first few months. This month was not entirely bad; I would venture to say none of the months this year were. However, I feel like this month has been the best so far, like a breath of fresh air. My word for April 2024 is “refreshing.”

– Refreshing –
[ ri – freh – shihng ]
DEFINITION: pleasingly fresh or different

– Psychiatry –
I had my first official appointment with my psychiatrist this month and we deduced that I have a dopamine deficiency, too. Which, seeing how ADD/ADHD runs rampant in my family, it’s not so surprising 😅 so I started a second medication to help that. I actually had another appointment with my psychiatrist today where we decided to stick with this medication and dosage. We’ll continue to see how it works!
– Musicals Galore! –
I saw quite a few musicals this month. High school productions as well as professional. At my alma mater, my family and I watched their spring production of “The Music Man.” At another school, my older sister, Emma, a friend, and I saw “The Addam’s Family,” then at another school, my whole fam (and other church folks) saw “Beauty and the Beast.” The professional musical a friend and I saw was “Company,” but… we left during intermission. It had many skewed ideas/themes/ etc. about marriage, life, and womanhood; I didn’t like it at all.
– The Solar Eclipse –
A total eclipse took place diagonally across the Eastern half of the USA (you can see the specific path here). So, some friends and I took a mini road trip to Ohio to watch it! It was about an hour and a half to two hour drive there, and we stopped for lunch before settling at the park to watch it. We arrived at the park about an hour before totality, so we just hung out! I braided a flower crown then eventually joined the guys who were tossing a frisbee. Every now and then, someone would pull their glasses out and check where the eclipse was. At around half an hour before totality, we stopped playing frisbee and just kinda chilled. Another friend and his buddy joined us around that time, too! It was overall so surreal seeing everything dark, but still kinda light at the same time, and the eclipse itself was super impressive. People all around the park even cheered once it reached totality! It was such a memorable experience!
– Evangelism Conference –
At another church in our presbytery, a conference was being held and the theme was everyday evangelism. Our speaker was Dr. Richard Phillips, a pastor and author of the book, Jesus the Evangelist which the conference was based on. It was honestly such a good and informative time; it definitely inspired me to actually go out of my way more to share the gospel!
– Fellowship 🙂 –
I did a lot this month! There was an Easter hymn sing hosted by a friend, a trip to an all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse which was quite the time, and I went shooting and practiced my marksmanship! We also had a few movie nights and celebrated my brother-in-law’s birthday at his house with poker, outdoor games, and plenty of food! I love my friends 🙂

How Can I Pray For You In May?
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
