A Marathon, Medicine, & Many Special Occasions // March 2024

Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! This month went fairly okay! I had some big downs, yet (as the title says) quite a few special occasions! From watching my niece get baptized, to laughing over ice cream cartons, I still found joy in so many things this month. My word for March 2024 is “rosy.”

– Rosy –

[ roh – zee ]

DEFINITION: bright or promising.

– My Niece Was Baptized –

My family and I believe in pedo-baptism, so when my niece was about six weeks old, she was baptized! Honestly, I teared up at the sight and couldn’t stop smiling. We hosted friends and my brother’s-in-law family after the service for brunch and to celebrate and there ended up being thirty-four people! We had a long table in our dining room and two smaller tables in our living room. It was beautiful out, too, so a few of us went outside to toss a frisbee, I climbed a tree, and it was overall a wonderful day!

– A Star Wars Marathon –

Last year, a group of friends and I had a Lord of the Rings marathon where we watched all three movies (extended edition) in one day. We decided to do another marathon this year, but with Star Wars; however, we only did episodes one through six, as not many of us are fans of seven through nine. I made a fruit salad, a themed fruit tray, and bought apple juice (but labeled it “Naboo Nectar” to try and make it fit the theme). My sister, Emma, dressed up my niece as an Ewok, which was absolutely adorable, and between each movie, a friend of mine ran a mile. It was a great day surrounded by friends, food, and entertainment!

– Costco! –

Emma and her family live right by a Costco (and have a membership) so she took me along with her so I could experience it for the first time! We made it a little girl’s trip—Emma, my niece, and I—and even went to Target afterward. I was holding my niece for a bit while walking around since we didn’t want her in her car seat the whole time, but she exploded on me… through her sleeper and everything. Good thing I had a t-shirt on underneath my sweatshirt 😅😅

– Found A Psychiatrist –

Ever since I was discharged from a psychiatric hospital last September, I’ve been trying to get settled with a psychiatrist. Fortunately, I’ve been getting my medication from my PCP, but it’s ideal to have a specialist for medication management. Things fell through with two different people before I finally got in with my current psychiatrist. I have my first “official
appointment tomorrow, so hopefully all continues going well with this practice!

– Easter –

Easter is so much more than eggs and bunnies and candy in a basket. Palm Sunday celebrates Jesus’ triumphal entry as the Savior of all people, Maundy Thursday is the start of the Last Supper where we remember Jesus’ presence with us and His sacrifice, Good Friday, we mourn our sin and brokenness and that it took Jesus’ horrific death to save us, and Easter Sunday, we celebrate that Jesus defeated death once and for all, so we would never have to face the wrath of God or His absence from our lives. What a relieving truth that is! Death has no victory over us. Christ is risen indeed, hallelujah!

How Can I Pray For You in April?

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
