Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! So many wonderful adventures took place this month! I felt rather busy as well, due to all the crazy things happening, but it was well worth it to be further surrounded by friends and family. I must say I truly enjoyed April this year!

Adventures
Engagement
I. AM. ENGAGED. We had discussed marriage, how I would like the proposal to go, and even looked at venues, but I, for whatever reason, didn’t expect this at all! My boyfriend and I went out for a neat little breakfast at a cafe, then decided to do a light hike at a nearby park. We got maybe five minutes down the trail when I got distracted by a rockface that had little waterfalls trickling down (due to the rain) and some figurines and such that people had left. However, while my back was turned, he grabbed the ring (and a little white bouquet of flowers!) and popped the question! (he did have to repeat himself in order to get my attention to turn around since I was so invested in the little trinkets) After we talked, and I officially accepted, a man with his son came walking up the trail and were able to take our pictures! I cannot wait for the rest of my life!
Birthdays
My fiancè’s cousin was hitting his thirtieth birthday, so the family decided to throw a surprise party! It was such a wonderful time seeing (and meeting more of) his family, sharing the engagement news, and celebrating a special birthday! And, two weeks later, we celebrated my soon-to-be nephew’s fourth birthday! We ended up staying long after the party ended, which was late, but a wonderful time of just hanging out with family (and talking about wedding stuff!)
A Wedding
Another one of my friends got married this month! I wasn’t in this wedding, so it was nice to be a guest again, especially alongside my siblings! It was quite the adventurous drive with my younger sister, Briana, and my next two younger brothers to the venue, to the reception, and then back home again. Instead of a dance floor, they had board games available; I didn’t play any because I was too tired, but it was enjoyable just to watch and socialize!
Easter Weekend
This wedding happened on Holy Saturday, so it was overall a rather busy holiday weekend! We had church on Good Friday, a wedding on Saturday, then Easter Sunday was its own busy day. My fiancè and I started at my church for breakfast, drove about half an hour or so to his church for the morning service, drove back down to my family’s house for lunch, then back up to his parent’s house for late afternoon festivities and dinner. It was a lot of back-and-forth driving (each time about thirty to forty minutes), but it was wonderful that we could still celebrate with both of our families (and still have a little bit of rest time between each trip!)
A Storm
A huge storm ripped through my city (and surrounding counties) on April 29th. It was maybe half an hour, but with the 80mph winds and the suddenness of it all, it was intense! My fiancè and I began driving to my younger brother’s volleyball game right as it started, and I swear a tree limb fell on the road right in front of us. There was close to no visibility for the first bit of the drive, we rerouted so many times due to fallen trees and snapped powerlines, and most of the traffic lights we hit were out of power! My family lost power for about 36 hours, but there were still homes without power for about almost week! It was quite the adventure and experience going that long without power, but we made the most of it with my brother’s making shadow puppets and running errands with my sister!
