Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! I am getting over being sick, hence this being a few days late. But, anyway, this December was full of festive activities, and honestly, feels like it totally flew by. And now the year itself is coming to a close. This was a great month to close on, however; I had lots of family/friend time and cosy days!

Special Happenings
Christmas Get-Togethers
I had quite a few get-togethers and such this holiday season. There was a women’s brunch at my church, a get-together with my church small group, a hymn sing, a congregational lunch at my church, a double-feature Christmas movie night with friends. They were all loads of fun, and I truly enjoy all this togetherness the last months of the year spanning Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Friendsgivingmas
For the third year now, I’ve hosted a “holiday hodgepodge” that I call, Friendsgivingmas. We had a great number of people, but nearly everyone was about an hour late 😅 We had some of my dad’s soups, cheesy broccoli casserole, roasted cauliflower, and a bunch of other stuff (mostly desserts and alcohol lol) that everyone else brought! There weren’t as many gingerbread houses as usual, and I was not a fan of mine, but it was all fun to be there, anyway! I absolutely love hosting this party year after year!
Christmas Eve
Since my family is expanding, mostly due to my sister getting married, we celebrated Christmas across three days! My sister, Emma, and her family came over in the afternoon where we hung out then exchanged gifts before our Christmas Eve service. We also did our iconic “Secret Sibling” grabbag, which is always fun. My boyfriend met up with me at the Christmas Eve service, then we went to his parent’s house where I met his immediate family as well as some folks from his dad’s side. I ended up staying and hanging out until long after everyone else left; it was just me, him, and his parents. It was technically Christmas morning when I left, and we all wished each other “Merry Christmas” a few minutes after midnight struck.
Christmas Day
Christmas day, itself, was pretty chill. It was just my immediate family (minus Emma and her fam), and we exchanged gifts with each other, opened stockings, and later had a snacky sort of Christmas dinner (reminiscent of our NYE spread). I took a nap in the afternoon at some point, built some little LEGO succulents that my younger sister, Briana, got me, and read a bit.
Christmas Day 2.0
This was when we had our big Christmas dinner. It was earlier in the afternoon because my best friend, Mandi, and her boyfriend had somewhere to be in the evening. It was quite nice, however, to have it earlier. We spent the rest of the evening watching some Christmas movies, hanging out, and my boyfriend and I finished a puzzle I had been working on!
New Year’s Eve
This is one of my favorite holidays, mainly because of the food. I worked 8:00-4:00, picked up some stuff on the way home (including gluten-free crackers), then joined the rest of my family! Shortly after I got home, Emma and her family came over, my boyfriend came at around 7:00, then a friend arrived around 9:00, I believe. I had two plates of snacks, eggnog, limoncello & apple juice, and some coffee from that morning. For our traditional NYE movie, we watched The Aristocats, which is one of my favorite Disney movies now, I think. We turned on the ball drop around five minutes before while my boyfriend and some others rushed to get champagne for the toast. We got a group picture, and I don’t remember the rest of the night—I was probably too tired.

How Can I Pray For You In January?
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
