Housewarming Gift Ideas 2024 // Wednesday Whatevers

, , ,

Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! Quite of a few of my friends have bought houses or moved into houses with friends the past few years. I love giving gifts, so these happenings provided a great theme for yet another gift guide post. I’m a huge advocate for shopping local and/or small and even giving homemade gifts, so a lot of these links lead to smaller brands (or Etsy), but feel free to DIY these gifts if you can. Enjoy!

psst… you can see my other gift guides here!

1 || Personalized Storageware

I love this for numerous reasons. One of them being that this artisan makes eco-friendly and plastic-free containers! (bamboo lids and glass containers) There are quite a few different designs to choose from as well. This is a thoughtful, unique, and practical gift!

2 || Kitchen Essentials

Again, going the plastic-free route, this set of utensils is made of silicone and stainless steel! Not to mention, they’re a must for any kitchen. If you’ve got any friends who are moving into their first place, these could be handy!

3 || Soaps

I love perishable gifts. Honestly. People can always use things like soap, candles, gift cards, etc. which makes them a great gift! Even if someone else got this new homeowner soaps, well guess what? They’re gonna run out eventually, so your come in handy, too!

4 || Favorite Beverage

Typically it’s wine, but I had to put coffee because A) I don’t like wine, and B) I gotta promote my sister’s business, y’know? These beans are also pre-ground, which makes them great for standard drip coffee machines!

5 || Candles

Again, I gotta promote my sister’s business, but for good reason; isn’t this the cutest? Like I said earlier, people can always use candles. In this Fall collection alone, there are six different scents to choose from, so there’s something for any new homeowner!

6 || Coasters

Coasters are an over-looked household essential IMO. I know some folks are earnest about using coasters, but even if you’re friend isn’t, they’re a great piece of decor and personalization for the home!

7 || Gift Cards

In case you have no idea what to get this person, or nothing on this list is speaking to you, go for a gift card! This is always a safe option for gift-giving occasions of any kind.

8 || Key Tray

I’m not the kind of person to lose their keys, but we all have that one friend… besides, I couldn’t help but chuckle at this fun key tray!

9 || Reusable Paper Towels

I heard about these a few months ago, aren’t they awesome? I love the idea of this for sooo many reasons. They’re cute, they’re eco-friendly, and they’re practical! Besides, these cut back on a few expenses this new homeowner would have made on paper towels!

10 || Flower Bouquet

This is another traditional housewarming gift. It automatically adds life to any space and, before they die, the whole bouquet can be dried and/or pressed, so they can be njoyed for longer! Not to mention, I absolutely adore dried flowers as decor…

11 || Cookies

Now, you don’t have to go as fancy as the picture; you could make good old-fashioned chocolate chip cookies, or even just buy some from a local bakery. Whenever my family and I moved into our previous house a neighbor gave us a whole plate full of cookies. Trust me, they’ll love it!

12 || Throw Blanket

You can never have too many blankets! Whether this new homeowner is hosting a movie night, campfires, or even just wants to build a blanket fort, they come in handy! You could also hope over to Etsy and get a personalized blanket, or, if you’re crafty, you could knit/crochet one yourself!

13 || Snacks (and reusable jars!)

I love gifts that you can reuse such as jars like this or gift baskets. You can go ham with them, too! Get a fancy jar, make a fun little label for it, or even paint it pretty, I don’t know! There is a lot of artistic freedom that comes with this thoughtful and practical gift!

14 || Cookbook

This could be a blank cookbook that your friend adds recipes to or it could be a cookbook you buy! Or… if you’re feeling extra fancy, you could try and create a cookbook like the one pictured đź‘€

15 || Personalized Sign

I absolutely adore this sign, but it doesn’t even have to be this fancy! Any sort of personalized sign would be a wonderful gift. Etsy is full of them, so get browsing!

There you go! I hope you found this post helpful and/or inspiring. If you have any other gift ideas feel free to drop them in the comments below!
How many times have you moved houses?
