Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! If you’re on social media, you may hear loads and loads of terms going around to describe an aesthetic, or a specific makeup look, or whatever. People just like putting labels on things to make life simple. I’m not the biggest fan of it, but I do enjoy those “umbrella terms” when I want to find something that from a certain aesthetic.
One of the terms I’ve heard a lot is “granola girl.” And I’ve since learned Granola Girl is me. According to WikiHow, a Granola Girl is “someone who loves the planet and the great outdoors. Personality-wise, she’s free-spirited, down-to-earth, and environmentally-conscious.” And a few signs apparently to tell if you’re a Granola Girl are “enjoying outdoor activities, wearing earth-tone clothing, listening to indie music, and buying ‘all-natural’ products.”
Huh.
It pretty much read me like a book.
I’ve accepted that this is one of my aesthetics—without even meaning it to be—and have since leaned into it and embraced it. So, I decided to make a post about some of my favorite clothes, accessories, items, etc. I own that fit into the “granola girl” aesthetic. Enjoy!

1 || Black Overalls

I randomly found these in my laundry basket one day and have been wearing them ever since! The brand is Boom Boom Jeans, but I haven’t seen them on the website, so I guess they’re not selling them anymore. The inseam is 5″ and they’re nice and loose, so they fit perfectly! Not to mention, they have plenty of pockets…
🤎 🤎 🤎
2 || Summer Camp T-Shirt

I counseled at a summer camp for the first time last summer and got a t-shirt! It’s in brown which is my favorite color, it’s a nice size, and it promotes the camp!

3 || Flygo Linen Set

I bought these to mainly use as pajamas but end up wearing them even after I wake up! There are some days where I’m not going anywhere and I spend the whole day wearing this set. It is so comfortable and loose and comes in a ton of colors, too! And, yes, multiple shades of brown, my fav 🤎

4 || Universal Threads Socks

Now, people are gonna say, “Target isn’t environmentally-friendly” and all that. I know. I definitely am not a fan of thrifting undergarments, and I have yet to find an affordable brand for basic socks like this. Let me know if you have any recommendations!

5 || Brown Combat Boots

I thrifted these as well and they’ve become one of my go-to pairs of shoes! Again, they’re a wonderful shade of dark brown and they go with pretty much anything! You can check out some of my Monthly Recaps to see some of my OOTDs with these boots.

1 || Pura Vida Bracelets

I’ve been buying Pura Vida bracelets for years now, and I still can’t get enough of them. Not only are they cute (and waterproof), but you also support artisan communities with every purchase! And, they have jewelry pieces that support a specific charity, too; one of my favorite bracelets supports the National Park Conservation Association!
🤎 🤎 🤎
2 || Camp Baseball Hat

For the past nine years, I’ve been going with my church to Fairmont, West Virginia, for a short-term mission trip. The camp we stay at has some clothing and accessories they sell, and I got this hat! I believe it was around my fourth year going? It’s been a while 😅
🌻 🌻 🌻
3 || Light Brown Gingham Bandana Set

I got this set at Walmart, and they have become a staple in my wardrobe! I mainly wear bandanas around my neck, but I also tend to wear them on my head like a headband or a kerchief! I bought them in-store so I can’t find the exact online link, but there are many other cute options!
☕ ☕ ☕
4 || Wood-Carved Mushroom Earrings

My older sister, Emma, actually made these for me! They are one of the only pairs of earrings I wear. If you want some handmade wood-carved earrings (or other jewelry pieces), I would suggest looking on Etsy!
🤎 🤎 🤎
5 || Local Coffee Shop Beanie

There’s a local coffee trailer that my friend, Mandi, and I love going to and they sell merch! I bought a beanie when they came out and I hope to get a t-shirt and maybe even a tumbler!

1 || Kelty Fairbank Backpack

My previous backpack started ripping at the strap, and I needed some more pockets and room. I did research on all sorts of different backpacks and finally settled on this one! It has so many pockets and compartments, and it’s so roomy! 10/10 would recommend for anyone else who likes to carrying everything with them all the time!
🤎 🤎 🤎
2 || Public Goods Skincare Products

I discovered Public Goods through a newsletter I follow (check it out on my Fun Stuff page!) Ever since then, I’ve been using their facial cleanser and moisturizer as a part of my daily skincare routine. I also use their micellar water and cotton rounds for makeup removal! They also have tons of other eco-friendly and sustainable essentials, I would definitely encourage you to check them out!
🌻 🌻 🌻
3 || Plant Therapy Essential Oils

More and more I’ve been getting into essential oils and Plant Therapy is now my brand of choice. There are so many great things about them (you can read about them on their website), and they’re affordable! I use their oils topically and aromatically for tons of things!
☕ ☕ ☕
4 || Dozens of Dried/Pressed Flowers

Over the past year or so, I’ve been drying and pressing flowers. I have some from bouquets that were in Emma’s wedding, some from bouquets I bought for my Mama, fallen petals from random bushes, and probably tons of other places. It is my goal to turn my room into a jungle and what better way than to use nature itself?

5 || Simple Modern 32oz. Water Bottle

I’ve had this water bottle for about three years now! I’ve had to replace the cap twice now and have rearranged many stickers on and off of it. It is one of my every day essentials and the brand Simple Modern has a ton of other colors (and bottles) to choose from!

There you go! I hope you found this post entertaining and/or inspiring. Feel free to drop any of your own pieces in the comments below!
Do you relate to the “granola girl” aesthetic?
