Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! I was away for most of this month, so it feels like it went by in a blur. From counseling at a summer camp to planning some landscaping work, this month held so many wonderful and fulfilling moments!

– The Fourth of July –
For the fourth year now, my friends have been getting dinner at a local Indian restaurant then watching fireworks (and hanging out) in the plaza parking lot. This was my third year joining! I had a salad at the restaurant, played with my niece in the grass for a bit, then hung out in the back of my friend’s car, chatting. There were fireworks going off from all sides at varying distances, which was cool to see. However, about five or ten minutes in, it began downpouring. I played in the rain while pretty much everyone else stayed under cover. My brother-in-law had an umbrella and kept dumping water on me 🙃 I got a little cold eventually, but couldn’t really do anything about it. It eventually stopped after maybe ten or fifteen minutes, but the fireworks still continued at some spots even through the rain! Some people left, but everyone else just sat in their cars and even honked after the grand finale. I got home cold and wet, but it was a time well spent!
– Summer Camp –
This was my second year counseling at this camp! My friend, Ben, and I joined for a post-high weekend (for high school graduates), then went right into counseling for the week of eleventh and twelfth graders (as well as some kids who camped up or down). I had seven girls I was counseling, two from last year, and I loved spending time with them! We had some interesting and hilarious late night cabin talks… I met friends, new and old, and heard some riveting messages during worship sessions. The clan I was a part of got third place (out of four), but with our chants, our people, and the games, I didn’t mind at all; I’m just here to have fun 🙃 I love this camp more and more with year I go, and it was such a beneficial time for my mental and spiritual health! Here’s to next year!
– Fairmont, West Virginia, Mission Trip –
This was my ninth year going on this mission trip, and it was just as fun as ever! As always, I will be making this trip into it’s own separate post (so stayed tuned!) This year, we worked on a few different worksites, including part of a church that was turning into a rehab center! I did mostly painting, but also a bit of yard work and other miscellaneous jobs. Two of my younger brothers came along as well as two of my friends and, for three out of four of them, it was their first year! – 21st Birthday –
I turned twenty-one on the twenty-second! I’m a Christian and do not think it right to get drunk, but I’m excited to start drinking and trying different cocktails and drinks (in moderation!) I’ve already tried a citrusy cocktail with pineapple, a rum and cream soda, and some white wine. I don’t think I like wine, but then again, I’ve only had two kinds, so maybe I’ll find one I like! The rum and cream soda was delicious, but I think that’s because the cream soda was the main flavor 😅 I know there are coffee- and/or chocolate-flavored stouts out there, so I think those are next on my list!

>> How Can I Pray For You In August? <<
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
