Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! I’ve recently been really working to get into a routine in the morning and at night, and I think they’re pretty solid, so I figured I’d share them! Now, I do want to let you know, that I don’t always stick to these perfectly, so please don’t feel as though you’re falling short or failing; we’ll never be perfect at anything while on this earth. I just wanted to share these as inspiration to build a routine of your own and to share what works for me! Enjoy!
psst… I use the app, Fabulous, which has honestly changed the game for me; I would sooo recommend it!
(it’s available for Android and iOS!)

>> The Morning <<
I usually work in the mornings, so I try to get as much done before work as possible because I know I’ll be too tired to do it all afterward. I wake up at 8:00 every morning and leave for work around 10:00 when I work mornings, so I have a good two hours to do get things done! The app, Fabulous, has timed routines which helps me stay on track and get everything done in a timely manner! (I have poor time management skills 😅)
1 || Drink Water – untimed
2 || Make My Bed – untimed
3 || Take Retainers Out & Skincare – 5 minutes
4 || Earthing & Breakfast – 20 minutes
I’ve recently been reading up on “earthing” or “grounding” and I’ve learned that it holds so many benefits! Not to mention, getting the unfiltered sun in your eyes for ten to twenty minutes in the morning can help wake you up even more than coffee! I also eat breakfast during this time to kill two birds with one stone. My breakfast is overnight oatmeal with chia seeds and flaxseeds to get as much protein as possible in the morning.
psst… you can read up on earthing through this article; I found is super informative and helpful!
5 || Take Medications & Vitamins – untimed
6 || Exercise – 15 minutes
I do some quick, low-impact pilates workouts in the morning just to get something in and to reduce sweating as I don’t have time to shower in the mornings. I like Move With Nicole as she has a multitude of lengthy and short videos as well as beginner and intermediate exercises!
7 || Get Dressed – 15 minutes
8 || Check Emails & Such – 5 minutes
9 || Devotions – 45 minutes
I have quite a few various things that are included in my devotional time. I start off reading Psalm 27 (I’m trying to memorize it), then Ephesians 6:10-18 (the armor of God) and pray to be armed with His armor as I face the day. I do my personal Bible study next where I’m currently in the psalms—one psalm per week! I finish it off with guided prayer meditations from the churchome app. I also do some brief journaling during this time!
psst… you can get devotional ideas on my Free Stuff page!
10 || Brush Teeth – 2 minutes
☕ ☕ ☕
Overall, this routine rounds out to 1 hour and 50 minutes which leaves a little wiggle room for me!

>> The Evening <<
This routine is a lot smaller since I’m usually too tired to do much 😅
1 || Shower – 30 minutes
I shower every other day or so, so this isn’t a part of my “every night” routine.
2 || Make Honey & Lemon Water – 5 minutes
I just fill a cup with water, add a splash of apple cider vinegar, a (bigger) splash of lemon juice, then about a tablespoon or so of honey. I like to drink this at night just to detox and “reset my palette” or whatever, so I’m not going to bed all full and uncomfy.
3 || Brush Teeth & Skincare – 5 minutes
4 || Journal
I usually do a basic rundown of my day, a Bible verse, some gratitude, and things like that. Perhaps I’ll make a post someday about the specifics of how I journal… 👀
🍄 🍄 🍄
This routine arounds out to be 1 hour long (30 minutes on days I don’t shower), so it’s not too daunting for me to do when I’m sleepy and ready for bed 😅

>> How To Build A Solid Routine <<
Building a routine can seem daunting and it’s certainly a trial-and-error process! I’ve been working on my routines for probably years now. As I’ve grown and become better at understanding myself, my weaknesses/capabilities, and timing, I’ve got some quick tips for you!
1 || Start Small
This may seem obvious, but seriously. Start small. Especially if you struggle with forming habits and getting into routines. Start with two or even one thing to do in the morning or night (whichever time you operate best). Then, slowly add on over time, and eventually create a small routine for the hour you may not operate best and repeat the process: start small.
2 || Adjust Your Routine(s) To Help Your Whole Self: Body, Mind, & Soul
I’ve been getting more into holistic health and caring for my whole self. I try to include things in each routine that will help all aspects of my health. What you do to yourself physically can impact you mentally and vice versa.
Physical Health: exercise, breakfast, earthing, skincare, drinking water, brushing teeth, shower
Mental Health: making bed, earthing, breakfast, exercise, devotions, journaling
Spiritual Health: devotions, journaling, earthing
Social Health: earthing, saying “hi/good morning/etc.” the fam
Intellectual Health: drinking water, exercise, devotions, journaling, proper sleep
3 || Have Grace On Yourself & Accept Your Capabilities
Like I said, making a routine is a trial-and-error process and may take you a while to get the gist of it all. Have grace on yourself when you don’t complete it or if you do it late, even if you’re a while into it and feel like you should have it all together. Understand that you won’t do things perfectly and will have “off days.” It’s okay.

There you go! I hope you found this post helpful and/or inspiring! If you have a specific routine for the morning and/or nighttime, feel free to drop it in the comments below!
What is your favorite part of your routine?
How long or short is your routine?
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day or night. Keep on loving others and seeking the Lord!
