Another Year, A New Start, and Something Coming Soon… // July 2022

,

Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! This month was pretty rough, but it all shaped up in the end! Between worrying about finding a new job to actually finding a great new job, it was stressful, but in a good way. My word for July 2022 is “unexpected.”

– I Got A New Job –

I got a new job! I was feeling super defeated, stressed, and anxious trying to find another part-time retail/food service job, but then I was tagged in a Facebook post by both of my parents for a job. I was nervous to even message the person who posted the job (I didn’t go to college, have only had one job, and felt super unqualified), but I did anyway, had an interview, and here I am! I work from home now, make my own hours, and it’s the perfect job for me because I have time to work on my blog, my book, and YouTube channels while also earning money and not being completely broke as I navigate my life and the billion options I want to pursue.

– Happy Birthday To Me –

July 22nd is my birthday, and I am officially nineteen! For my birthday, I wanted to get together with friends but felt a little too old to refer to these things as “birthday parties.” So, I hosted a fun game night at my house, invited friends, and my mom broke out a chocolate fountain (that we’ve had for months) for the first time. I served some of my favorite foods like berry salad, pasta salad, and a charcuterie board which I assembled all by myself for the first time! Not many friends could make it, but I was really happy with the group that was able to make it, and I’m glad I could spend my birthday with some of my closest friends just playing some fun games.

– Something’s Coming Back… –

I’m returning to Twitch! I started streaming video games in December 2021 but took a break in May 2022. I took a break because I felt really burnt out, stressed, and generally not like myself. However, with a more flexible job (and one that I actually enjoy, lol), I’m planning on returning to streaming (hopefully with a more consistent schedule, too). I think I’ll return around September once I get some helpful equipment, so follow me on Twitch to get notified when my first stream happens!

>> Movies and TV Shows Watched <<

Pirates of The Caribbean (1-5)

  • adventure, fantasy, swashbuckler
  • second-time watching (all)
  • MY REVIEW: I LOVE THESE MOVIES! I don’t know what exactly it is, but I just love them. My favorite is probably the first movie, just because it’s the OG, but Jack Sparrow is just hilarious in all of them and really just completes those movies. I’m not a huge fan of how objectified Elizabeth is and all that, but, that’s what happened back then (and probably more often than the movies even depict). I give these movies a 9/10!

Stranger Things (finished Season 2 and halfway through Season 3)

  • horror, drama, thriller
  • first-time watching
  • MY REVIEW: I really do enjoy this show. However, it is quite gory and very spooky. I hate gore and happen to be scared of nearly everything, so it’s a bit tough to watch this show, but I really like it! There are a lot of funny characters, lines, and moments, and I love some of the dynamic duos presented. I’m not done with the series yet, but I have to give it an 8/10 so far!

Zombies 3

  • Disney, musical, family
  • first-time watching
  • MY REVIEW: It’s a Disney-original movie, so it’s a little cheesy at parts, but the music lowkey slaps. There were some songs that my sisters and I were actually vibing out to, and there were a lot of funny lines and moments. I also just love Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly, and they were amazing. I watched this movie with my older sister and my younger sister, Briana, and we were all bawling at the end, but I have to give this movie an 8/10!

Dune (2021)

  • science fiction, military science, book-to-movie
  • first-time watching
  • MY REVIEW: I… am kinda slow?? I think? I watched the first 2/3 of this movie a few months ago and watched the rest just a few days ago, but I suppose I should have brushed up before finishing it. Dune is quite complicated, in my opinion, to begin with, but trying to return to it after months made it very confusing, and I felt very lost. I have a bad habit of asking questions throughout movies because I’m often confused/lost (also kinda impatient), and I found myself asking lots throughout this one. I’m still gonna watch part two (when it comes out), but my rating for this is 6/10.

Purple Hearts

  • romance, drama, military
  • first-time watching
  • MY REVIEW: I’m really starting to get into romance, and this just ignited a motivation to watch literally every romance movie out there. I just love it. I just love this movie. Now, there were quite a bit of singing parts that I kinda skipped as well as a mature-ish scene, but other than that, it had me squealing with excitement. My hopeless romantic self loved this movie. I rate it 9/10!
