Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! I am quite the movie-watcher, and that’s actually one of my favorite ways to spend time with people. My sisters and I work opposite work schedules and can’t often spend time together; however, at night—when my younger sister, Briana, and I come home from work—we watch a movie (or a tv show episode) together. We make commentary together—especially if it’s a bad/cringy movie—and fool around, and it’s a great way to decompress after work and bond with my sisters. So, in light of that, I’ve decided to create a list and review my top five favorite movies!
P.S. these aren’t in any specific order; I don’t think I could narrow down my TOP fav movie…
>> Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe <<

Genre: adventure, fantasy, book-to-movie
Release Date: December 9, 2005
Times I’ve Watched This Movie: I don’t even remember
MY REVIEW: I ADORE THIS FILM. I watched it a lot when I was younger and was absolutely obsessed with the story, the books, the movie, everything. I’m not even lying when I say that Narnia influenced who I am. This movie just gives me an unmeasurable amount of nostalgia and happy feelings that I can’t even begin to describe, not even in my own head. I just love this movie; it’s extraordinary.
>> Narnia: Prince Caspian <<

Genre: adventure, fantasy, book-to-movie
Release Date: May 16, 2008
Times I’ve Watched This Movie: I don’t even remember
MY REVIEW: I love this movie. It’s a great sequel (unlike a lot of other series) and it perfectly builds upon the last movie and brings so much cool adventure, stories, and new characters. Again, a huge part of my childhood, and this movie was probably where I got my crush on Edmund when I was younger, too… The ending LITERALLY always makes me cry every time I see it, not to mention, the song that plays during the credits has me BAWLING in and of itself. Not only are Peter and Susan leaving Narnia, but the song and its words make me cry because I’ve grown up, as well, and (due to a dark time in the past), I’ve lost that childhood innocence and naivety that I first watched the movies with. It’s just very sad at the end, but other than that, I ADORE this movie.
>> How To Train Your Dragon 2 <<

Genre: fantasy, animated, adventure
Release Date: June 13, 2014
Times I’ve Watched This Movie: twice or thrice, I believe
MY REVIEW: AMAZING. I really love so many different parts of this movie, I can’t even explain. The whole development of Hiccup (he’s literally just so cool) as well as his romance with Astrid, the introduction of Drago, and the GIANT ALPHA DRAGONS (what??) it’s just so cool. The visuals of all the How To Train Your Dragon movies are just so good and the SOUNDTRACK! Don’t even get me started. Every time I hear the main theme I literally malfunction; it’s just splendid and wonderful.
>> How to Train Your Dragon: Hidden World <<

Genre: adventure, fantasy, animated
Release Date: May 7, 2019
Times I’ve Watched This Movie: twice, I believe
MY REVIEW: beautiful. Just beautiful. The visuals are amazing, and I love the introduction of the light fury as well as the step-up from Drago: Grimmel. This movie brings in a lot of deep, epic “themes” (I think??) and it’s just so cool to watch all this stuff unfold and the intense parts all throughout the movie. Also, I simply ADORE how they built upon the side characters like Ruffnut and Tuffnut, Snotlout, and so on. Not to mention, Ruffnut’s scene when talking to Grimmel in the prison and Tuffnut talking with Hiccup about his manliness, just crack me up every time.
>> Frozen 2 <<

Genre: adventure, musical, children’s film
Release Date: November 22, 2019
Times I’ve Watched This Movie: twice, I believe
MY REVIEW: I watched this movie in theaters when it first came out, and I loved it! The visuals are stunning, and I love the new songs they brought in. I also like how they brought in so much consternation between all the characters, even Olaf. It has a lot of depth within each character, while also including funny parts, awesome songs, and, of course, a happy ending.
And there you go! I hope you enjoyed my little list of movies! Feel free to let me know of your favorite movies in the comments below (especially if we have the same faves!). I wish you a lovely rest of your day or night. Don’t forget to keep on inspiring others and loving yourself!
You’ve got to get up every morning with determination if you’re going to go to bed with satisfaction.
