Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! In light of Valentine’s Day coming up, folks will be preparing themselves for dates and planning fun days with their significant others. Not me, though… anyone else relate? However, I’m here to help those who have special someone’s but don’t have any sort of idea what they’re going to do. So, I’ve compiled a list of all kinds of cute & fun date ideas for those looking to stay at home, go out, or anything in between!
P.S. if you’re still looking for gift ideas, check out this post!
1 || Blanket Fort Movie Night

Who says you need a theater to watch a movie? Who says you even need a proper seat? Build a blanket fort for the best balance of comfort and awesomeness for movie-watching!
2 || Painting Class

A painting class is the best way to get your creative juices flowing together, and guess what? You even have gifts for each right there! Paint your S.O. a picture!
3 || Thrift Outfits For Each Other

This is one of my personal favorites. Go to a thrift store, buy 1-3 outfits for each other (casual, date night, party) (the choice is yours), then go back home, try them on, and finish off with a nice dinner in your “date night” outfits!
4 || “Power-Out” Game Night

Party like it’s 1758… turn off the lights, bring out your candles, and set out some board games and perhaps even a charcuterie board for this no-technology-allowed date night! Well, maybe just a phone to capture photos of this fun little date…
5 || Museum “Tour Fraud”

This is another one of my faves. Go to a museum and each of you take turns making up facts and lore about exhibits and statues you see around the place! This can even work at an art museum or even the zoo!
6 || “Craft Store Roulette”

Find your local craft store, go to random aisles and spin your partner! They close their eyes with their hand outstretched, you tell them when to stop, and whatever their hand lands on/touches, they have to buy for a DIY craft. Keep this going until you have a proper amount of materials, go home, then DIY it up!
7 || Bake-Off

This may not be the Great British Bake-Off, but it can still be just as fun! (or competitive, if you tend to fall toward that route) Bake something with (or against) your partner and, for an added twist, try to make something WITHOUT a recipe!
8 || “One-Take” Photo Challenge

I may or may not have just made this up… take a walk around the city or even a town with your partner and bring along a camera! (or just a phone) find cute spots, and take ONE photo at each place you find (no cheating!) This is a fun way to test your photo-taking and posing skills!
9 || LEGO Building Bash

Literally, who said LEGOS are just for kids? It says “ages 3-99” right on the label. Head to Target, Walmart, wherever you please, to find the perfect LEGO kit (or kits), bring them home, and have at’em!
10 || Dance-Off

With this fun idea, you can hook up your video game console and bring out Just Dance or even search up videos on YouTube for an awesome afternoon (or night) of cardio and fun!
11 || Horseback Riding

I went horseback riding ONCE and absolutely loved it. Not only is it just amazing on its own, but with your significant other? Even better! Not to mention, it’s a great way to feel like some sort of princess riding with her knight in shining armor…
12 || Visit A Botanical Garden… then plants your own plants!

Botanical gardens just by themselves make for a great date, but, to add a little more time spent with your significant other, why not take inspo from the garden, then plant your own flowers and ferns and fikuses! Stores like Lowe’s and Walmart usually have seed, soil, and pots for all your gardening needs!
13 || Evening Glamping and (Star)Gazing

If you’re not one for camping, but love the view of the night sky and sleeping under the stars, this is a nice alternative! You can either set up some blankets and such on your back porch or patio or even open up the trunk of your car and set up some blankets! Just don’t forget the snacks, camera, and special treats for your special night out.
14 || Hike At A National or State Park

Hiking is such a good way to get some fresh air and add some exercise into your day. Not to mention, you also get to look at the beautiful sights around you (your S.O. included, if y’know what I mean 😉
15 || Backyard Picnic

This is a meal, fresh air, and quality time all squished into one date. What could be better? Not to mention, you could even add some more quality time and shop for the treats with your partner, build the picnic spread together, then head out to a calm park or field to dine!
And there you go! I hope you enjoyed this list of cute little date ideas! If you end up using any of these, let me know in the comments or share them on social media (make sure to tag me, though: “calboylieer”). I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day or night. Keep on inspiring folks and loving yourself!
Try to be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.
