The Liebster Award

,

Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning/afternoon/evening! I was recently tagged in a post about The Liebster Award, hosted by the lovely, Arbitrary Fairy (click here to view the original post!) So today, I’ll be answering some questions about myself and my writing for you all to read about!

1 || When did you start blogging?

I began blogging in January of 2021 (my first post was January 17th). So, it’s been about six months! (almost to the day!)

2 || What would you say is the “brand” of your blog?

The brand of my blog is lifestyle/writing. I post some lifestyle things such as recaps, gift guides, and such, but then I also post the occassional character highlight post, or talk about something in my current WIP.

3 || What does your name mean? (and if it’s a pseudonym, how/why did you choose it?)

My name is kind of a pseudonym. I go by Callie Elizabeth, which is my first and middle name, rather than my first and last. By not using my last name, I feel like it gives a little more of a sense of privacy. Also, my grandmother’s name was Elizabeth and she was very influential to me, so, since my middle name is her first name, I want her legacy to continue through the works and title of the granddaughter that she had such a big impact on.

Also, Callie means ‘beautiful’ in Greek, and Elizabeth means ‘House of God’ so my name together means ‘Beautiful House of God’ I really like that 🙂

4 || What advice would you give to your younger self?

You’re beautiful. You’re special. You’re more than what you’re telling yourself you are.

5 || Do you have a favorite word?

YES! For some reason, I love the word ‘effervescent’ It means sparkling, or bubbling, and it’s just so fun to say!

6 || If you could only choose two functional senses (touch, taste, sight, etc.), what would they be?

Oh, boy. I think I would have to choose sight and hearing. I would choose sight because there are some sights that I couldn’t bear to never see again. I would miss the sunsets and sunrises, pretty ballgowns and flower crowns. I also would miss seeing cute boys… Anyway, I would choose hearing because I would never want to forget the sound of my favorite songs, or never hear my loved ones again. Although it’d be sad to never taste ice cream or raspberries, or never smell vanilla, or never feel soft blankets, I don’t think I could live without my hearing or sight.

7 || If you could bring one fantasy creature into existence, what would it be?

I think I would choose a unicorn. They’re just so majestic and beautiful, and it would be simply extravagant to see a horned horse galloping through a field. Besides, I already think horses are just amazing to begin with.

8 || What is your favorite summer activity?

My favorite summer activity is swimming. I love swimming. Even if I’m just sitting on a floaty in a pool, I just find it so enjoyable; it’s the perfect way to cool off!

9 || What project of yours are you most proud of?

I am most proud of one of my current WIPs, The Star of Juino. I’m on (at least) the eighth rewrite of the book and have been working on it for almost three years now. I hope to get it published soon, but after all these years I’ve loved the story and the characters more and more. I don’t think a single day has gone by in these past three years where I didn’t think about my book or at least the characters.

10 || Are you an early bird or a night owl?

I tend to be more of a night owl, but, with school out of the way, I hope to become more of an early bird and develop my own sweet morning routine.

11 || Favorite OC?

This is a tough question… one of my favorite OCs to write about is Idos Rakai Iskar, from The Star of Juino, but I think my favorite character overall is Mack Ida Hellin, also from The Star of Juino. I based part of her on my older sister, and I just think she is such a cool, laidback, awesome character. Idos has been my favorite to write about, because there’s so much within him and there’s so much to his backstory that’s so enjoyable to unfold and write about and paint a story with.

P.S. you can read about Idos here, and read a bit into my book, The Star of Juino, right here!

That concludes the questions! For my round of questions, I will be tagging: Maya Joelle, Hattush, and Evin. Feel free to check out their amazing blogs, and answer these questions if you’d like to! Just remember to tag 11 (or fewer, if needed) other bloggers and create some of your own questions for them to answer!
