Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning/afternoon/evening! Happy Easter! I had a pretty eventful week, and I got a lot done, resulting in me feeling pleasantly productive.
Sunday was Palm Sunday! I went to church that morning and was actually very proud of my outfit… very random, I know, but I felt happy. After church, I had cereal for the first time in a while, which also made me very happy (it had blueberries in it). After lunch, I did some blog work and watched YouTube for a bit. One of my parents was going to take me driving, but I didn’t want to push anything with my shoulder still in light recovery. My older sister, Emma, and I talked about getting those neat LED lights on TikTok to light up our room since we don’t have any other lights in it. I think they’re super cool. That night, my sisters and I finished watching Sleeping Beauty, and after the movie, my younger sister, Briana, made scrambled eggs for herself and me. Once we had our snackies, we tried watching the second episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, but our Disney+ was acting funky, and we couldn’t watch it. We eventually gave up and went to bed…
On Monday, we were talking about gender in my first-period class. It wasn’t any sort of heated debate or anything, we all have the same views, but I did learn that the phrase “women belong in the kitchen” or anything related makes my blood BOIL. That afternoon, I had a yearbook meeting where I was pretty productive and proud of myself! However, musical rehearsal that day was suuuper tiring. I’m not sure why, but I felt exhausted and completely out of it at practice. When I got home that day, I barely got anything done before my family had dinner. Afterward, I completed my entire ToDo list! One of those “todo’s” was vacuuming, and I was finally able to vacuum since my surgery! Woohoo!
On Tuesday, I checked my school’s snack cart, and I got a free PopTart which made me very happy. I learned how to fill out a check in math class, and it’s actually pretty fun! During third period, however, my teacher’s projector was broken, and so he Zoom-called us and shared his screen so he could present the presentation. It was interesting. Briana and I left school early that day to get our expanders for our braces, and I also got my top wire. I hated it. It’s super uncomfy and so hard to eat with, which stinks because I love eating. We came back to school for musical rehearsal, where we did a lot of scene work. When I got home, I worked on my WIP but soon got distracted with trying on my outfit for Wednesday… that took up a good half-hour or so. But, in feeling pretty and taking pictures, I realized that I’ve gained more confidence in myself, and that made me really happy.
Wednesday was my last day of school before Easter break! I accidentally left my coffee at home that morning and was DEAD during my first-period class. During third period, high school had a virtual field trip to a Bible museum, and I got 2nd place in the Kahoot we played afterward. After lunch, all of high school participated in an Easter egg hunt. It was really exciting at first, but then my feet got tired (I think I was overall tired because of my lack of caffeine), and I was not feeling it. After the hunt, we made Easter-inspired treats with donuts and Oreos, which I LOVED!! It was a bit hard to eat the Oreo and the donut with my expander and sore teeth, but I made it work. At the end of school, I, along with two co-stars, filmed a little promo video for our spring musical, and I got to dress up! Musical rehearsal that afternoon was all choreography review which was fun, but my mask kept coming down during one of the songs, and that was the opposite of fun 🙁 When I got home from school, I drank my cold coffee (I’m not sure why) and some honey oatmeal. I was very productive that day and felt super happy. I fixed a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff for my WIP, and I completed my ToDo list!! Woohoo!
Thursday was my first day of Easter break, and so naturally, I slept in until noon. When I finally decided to wake up and be productive, I did a lot of blog work before leaving for my physical therapy appointment. Every week, I’ve been learning and doing a new move or two, and my shoulder had already increased in movement! Yay! Although, I was hungry throughout the entire session because I hadn’t eaten anything all day… oopsie. After physical therapy, I didn’t do much. I just watched a bunch of YouTube and scrolled through Twitter endlessly.
On Friday, I also slept in pretty late. When I did get up, I drew a cute little picture and played Minecraft for the first time in a while. I began working out again with my little sister, and I’ve realized that she’s a very interesting young child. I don’t think she quite understands the concept of working out; she just sort of does the moves in a peculiar way and acts silly. Whatever floats her boat, I guess. That afternoon, I made some Pastiera Napolitano (an Italian grain pie) for Easter with my mom. We ended up making five pies and are giving two away to friends and family. However, we had to cut our baking session a bit short because my family and I were attending a Good Friday service at my church. After the service, we had a late dinner. My mom made a lamb dish (because Jesus is the lamb, y’know? Clever), and it was soooo good! It had some crumbly, small pieces of lamb and maybe some rice that got stuck in my expander and braces, but with some water swishing and brushing, I was able to get them out. Man, I can’t wait until this is over…
On Saturday, I didn’t do much. I have big plans for something in the future and did LOTS of creative work and prep for that. That pretty much took up my entire day. After dinner, though, I dyed and decorated eggs with my family, and like the proud writer I am, I themed each of my eggs after each main character in one of my WIPs, The Star of Juino (you can read about it here!) Once my youngest siblings went to bed, the rest of my family and I watched The Passion of The Christ. It covered less than I expected in Jesus’ life, but it was still pretty intense. I averted my eyes during a few parts due to the gruesomeness, but I would definitely recommend the movie. It really puts into perspective all that Jesus went through because he loves us.
That concludes my week! I hope you all had lovely weeks as well, and I pray we all have wonderful times ahead of us. Feel free to share any highlights from your week in the comments below. As always, keep on inspiring others and loving yourself!
He is not here; He has risen, just as He said.
