Hello! This week was pretty uneventful, I went through many slumps and periods without motivation for anything, but I pressed on. Next week is a new week, and I’m sure that I’ll get at least something done.
On Sunday, I struggled to get myself out of bed and ended up missing the church service that morning. I couldn’t seem to do anything but sleep on and off. Eventually, I forced myself out of bed at around 11:45 with the determination to get stuff done that day. A little trick I do is I dress in a full outfit, even if I’m not going anywhere; top, bottoms, shoes, glasses, even some jewelry. It puts me in the mindset that I’m gonna be up and about doing stuff and going out, so it helps me feel more productive if that makes sense. I tried to work on my book that day, but then I realized I was too tired to form even one (1) Proper Thought. Although, I did style my hair for the first time in a while.
Monday was a snow day! …except we had out-of-school instruction that day, so I still had some assignments to complete. On the brighter side, I built a little snowman! Her name is Queen. Later in the day, I wrote a chapter in my book but was still feeling that unmotivational slumpiness. I made myself a banana, peanut butter, and cinnamon milkshake in an attempt to wake up a bit more: one banana, two large spoonfuls of peanut butter, enough almond milk to seem like enough, and a pinch of cinnamon (in case any of you want to try). That night, I watched Barbie as the Island Princess with my sisters, which just so happens to be my favorite Barbie movie of all time!
On Tuesday, we were back in school! I was very proud of my color coordination that day. I didn’t take a picture, but I was wearing maroon shoes, a maroon headband, a black sweater, and black pants, then a white polo and a white scrunchie. Now, imagine that in your mind, will ya? Just humor me. During a study hall in the afternoon, a few friends and I played Texas Hold’em with some cards. From what I know of Poker, it seems like a simplified version of Poker; it’s also pretty fun! After school, I got a morse code app and began to learn morse code. I think it’s just a really neat way of communication and even convinced my sister to get the app (It’s called Morse Mania).
Wednesday, we played more Texas Hold’em, and I’m pretty sure I have yet to win a game. I had musical rehearsal after school, and I must say, for our first rehearsal as a group, we did pretty darn good. When I got home after rehearsal, it was only a bit before my snacks arrived! I just bought myself some granola bars, almonds, strawberry oatmeal, and my all-time favorite, Lucky Charms. With the new-found excitement and happiness fueled by the arrival of my snackies, I completed most of my to-do list that day!
I don’t remember a single thing that happened Thursday, but Friday was pretty eventful. At school, my mother told me that I will be having surgery on my shoulder. On Monday. A.K.A. only three days from then! Honestly, I was excited. I’m going on almost four months with a messed up shoulder, and I’m eager to get it fixed ASAP. Later that night, at work, I was being a little careless and tripped in front of most likely about twenty customers in the drive-thru. Never living’ that one down, that’s for sure. I fell on my knees and even had to catch myself with my good arm; I almost wore a hole in my pants. Luckily, I was about to go inside, away from the customers, but that didn’t stop me from being mortified to the highest level.
Saturday brought my last shift for a while. Since my surgery requires a 4-6 week recovery period, I won’t be back at work for about a month. The shift was boring, and honestly, I’m not a huge fan of customer service, but I’ll certainly miss seeing my friends for a month. After work that day, I made a blanket fort in our family room for my little siblings. Now, I’d love to say that I cuddled up with a good book inside, but I read the first few chapters and got distracted by social media. What’s new? I didn’t do a single thing on my to-do list that day, but it’s okay. Tomorrow is always a new day to guide yourself with a new determination to get stuff done!
That was my week! Pretty uneventful, sure, but I have a feeling that this week with my surgery and plenty of downtime, I’ll have lots to do! I hope you all have a lovely, productive, and enjoyable time this week. Keep on inspiring folks and loving yourself!
Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
