Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! January was full of slow and simple moments. I’m not working at the moment, so I spend most of my days inside and just organizing, decorating, or tending to the house. I love going out and experiencing and being with people, but this weather makes staying home a lot more preferable, so my January was rather cozy!

Adventures
Extended Christmas
We had one last Christmas get-together on January 3rd for my husband’s uncle who was sick on Christmas. We exchanged gifts with him and his family then watched some childhood videos from 2001! We also had some leftovers from Christmas which is always fine in my book; Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s have the BEST foods! We don’t get to see that part of the family too often, so it was a wonderful time of being together!
Get-Togethers
We had a church get-together, our typical family meals on Sundays, as well as a baby shower for a woman in my church! At the church get-together, it was wonderful to see everyone again after the holiday craziness, but I soon got wrapped up in playing with me niece; she had me chasing her around a load-bearing wall for a good ten minutes or so… just round and round in a circle, but hearing her giggles was the best! At the baby shower, which was polar-themed, I sat with my sister and two other friends of ours. The main course was fried chicken which I had to painfully refrain from, but the salad was delicious! It was also quite nice to chat with those friends, mostly about food and wellness or kids!
An Old Friend
I reconnected with a friend from high school recently after seeing each other a few times at various school events. We got some coffee and caught up, then went antiquing at a couple of nearby antique stores! I got a golden rose broche and she got a ring at one store, then were too busy exploring the FOUR whole buildings that were included in another store! It was wonderful time catching up with a dear friend, especially before some chilly and intense winter weather!
Snowy Weather
The eastern side of the US was forecasted to receive a ton of snow and/or ice for the last week of January; we were fortunate to mostly get the snow. We got about a foot after it steaedily snowed for almost the entire night! Our porch sliding door is still blocked by snow, I believe. Our firepit and tire swing got covered, and we almost lost sight of my husband’s whole car! Thankfully, our next door neighbor has a few different vehicles and such and was outside like clockwork, plowing the whole private lane as well as our driveway. We didn’t go to church the next morning, since we pretty much couldn’t leave our house, but it was just another lovely excuse to stay cosy, inside, and watch the pretty winter weather from afar.
