Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! I saw this idea on social media to have a “Bible Basket.” It’s pretty much a place to keep your Bible, devotionals, journaling supplies, etc., whether it’s only what you’re currently reading or working on or your entire collection (depending on how big your basket is, I suppose). I’ve set up my own in a cute little picnic basket and wanted to guide you through everything that I have in there!

ESV Journaling Bible
This one is in here for obvious reasons. I have been using this Bible since 2021 after receiving it as a graduation gift. I’ve started journaling in it more recently, but have had various sections and verses highlighted for quite some time. I’m (mostly) unafraid to mark up my Bible; it helps a lot more than you would think when searching for a favorite passage or causing verses to pop out more.

Sermon Notes Journal
I take notes during church services, and so I keep my current journal in the basket. I would like to get one that’s bigger since I write my notes a little fancy and extra, but I love the spiral binding and hardcover of this journal. I like to keep it in my basket because that makes it easier to access every week!

Pencil Pouch
Technically, I could keep this at my desk or in my backpack, but I use the most when taking sermon notes or doing Bible study/journaling. I was actually gifted this for my sweet sixteen by a classmate/friend and have had it since. It looks like a normal pencil pouch, but it’s double-layered, so there are zippers on each side that lead into different section; does that make any sense? Anyway, I’ve got highlighters in one side and then some pencils, pens, and a giant cupcake eraser I’ve had since I was ten or eleven.

Bible Study Journal
I believe I was also gifted this journal for my sweet sixteen. It’s just an ordinary lined journal (bigger than my sermon notes one), and I like to use it for my personal Bible studies. I get even more extra when studying on my own, so I like having some extra room!

Prayer Journal for Women by Shannon Roberts
This was actually something I found at a thrift store, and it was totally unused! I certainly haven’t used it enough, but it has two pages for each week where you write out prayer concerns, highlights of your week, and prompts for reflection at the end of each week, as well!

Day By Day by Jess Conte
This is another guided journal that I have not used nearly enough. It’s not as explicitly “christian” as some of these other tools, but it’s made by a Christian woman and has some biblical themes. It takes you through all sorts of different prompts to capture your life where you are; in fact, the subtitle for this book is “100 Ways to Capture Memories & Create Your Own Story.” I certainly aspire to use this journal a lot more in the future!

Prayer Pathway by Kathi Lambrides Westlund
Yet another tool that I am severely falling behind in. I received this as a birthday present shortly after I turned twenty from a woman in my church that is near and dear to my heart. It brings you through seven themes of prayer: Praise, Repent, Ask, Yield, Express Thanks, Rejoice, and Shalom (in case you couldn’t tell, it spells out, “prayers”). And, with each section, it has a little blurb about that word and then a bunch of passages/verses from Scripture to read as a prayer. Such a useful tool for your prayer life!

Prayers For Anxiety
I believe I got these back when I was first going through my battle of depression. I used them similarly to how you would use Prayer Pathway—a guided prayer tool. They have a verse or two on one side, then a prayer prompt on the other, and I would pray them word-for-word. They’re especially helpful when you’re at a loss for words or can’t find the right words for what you may need. And, they’re only $6.00!

Do you have a bible basket? What are some of your must-haves for devotions and bible study? Let me know in the comments below! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day or night. Keep on loving others and seeking the Lord!
