Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! I’ve grown fond of doing things on my own. Over the past year or so, I’ve grown so much in my relationship with myself and my independence. I don’t hate being alone; in fact, it sometimes feels more freeing than doing something with someone else. Since getting my driver’s license last year, I’ve been able to do solo dates/errands, so I thought I’d offer up some great places that I’ve gone or want to go! Enjoy!

>> A Museum <<

I, personally, love museums. Especially any art (except abstract, modern, etc.) or history museums! This one has so many good things going along with it, too! You get a nice day out and about, you get some steps in, and you can learn a whole ton of stuff! (and, you could always spoil yourself even more and get something from the gift shop 😉)

>> A Park <<
There are quite a few really nice parks not even 30 minutes from where I live, so this is one of my favorite options! Besides, it gives you some flexibility and freedom when deciding what to do. You could bring a book, a craft, an instrument, and picnic food; you could do all of those at the park! It’s a great option for those who like doing a bunch of different things, but it’s also in a scenic and peaceful environment!

>> A Library <<

Or any sort of bookstore! I am trying to get myself back into reading, but even if I’m not interested in any of the books—or at least interested in buying a book—I just like to look around! Maybe I’ll find an interesting book I’ve never heard of before and open it up just to see, or I’ll try and find pretty book covers, or some bookstores have things other than books which are also interesting to look at!

>> A Cafe <<
Like the park idea, this one is flexible! Bring a craft, a book, and whatever you want, find a comfy spot, and set up camp! Another option is bringing nothing and just people-watching! (As a writer, I find people-watching helpful and rather entertaining) And, maybe you could spoil yourself a bit and get some coffee or tea…

>> A Grocery Store <<

I know this one sounds odd… but I, personally, love grocery stores. I just love stores and running errands in general; everything is just so fascinating to me. I once walked around a Shop’n Save for a little over an hour waiting for my Mama to pick me up from somewhere. You could find a food you’ve never heard of/tried, you could explore their flower section, maybe even try and find the funniest cards in the card section! There are so many things to look at and dig into at a grocery store IMO
🤎 🤎 🤎
>> A Live Show <<
This has a big range. It could be a comedy show, a musical, a concert, anything live! It’s a great way to be out-of-the-house, entertained, and maybe even with a yummy snack for a few hours! I hope to do more of this myself. Many libraries, parks, and other community places host things like this so I encourage you to do some research as to what’s in your city and when!

🌻 🌻 🌻
>> A Movie <<

Similar to the live shows, this is a great and entertaining way to spend time out of the house. Besides, I think the movie selections recently have been rather intriguing. This is a great way to immerse yourself into another world for a good long while! (again, maybe even with a yummy snack!)

>> Sunrise/Sunset-Watching <<
I love this so much. It’s a calm way to start off your day, having those quiet little moments to ready yourself. Or, it’s a great way to finish off your day, having a quiet time to reflect on the day with a beautiful reminder of the day you were given to live!

🍄 🍄 🍄
>> A Nighttime Drive <<

I’ve been growing into more of a morning person, so I’m not fond of staying out late, especially driving, but I know a lot of people enjoy this! You can crank up some of your favorite tunes (Or a podcast! Or audiobook!), roll the windows down, and just cruise!
🤎 🤎 🤎
>> Take A Class <<
I’ve been looking into taking free online courses recently, and I love this idea. Now, I believe most classes would have some sort of price tag on them, but I don’t imagine it being astronomical. I love the idea of continuing to learn things even after finishing my education!

🌻 🌻 🌻
>> Volunteer <<

Now, this one is more like you’re doing something alone, but yet, you’re still with other people. This is a great way to spend a day (or an afternoon or whatever) serving and meeting new people. There are homeless shelters, food pantries, clean-up crews, animal shelters, and all sorts of other places that I’m sure would love another volunteer!
☕ ☕ ☕
>> Be A Tourist In Your Own City <<
I’ve wanted to do this for a while. Although I grew up about twenty minutes from the city, I’m a pure suburbanite; my family didn’t venture into the city often. Now, I’m not much of a city person, they’re too congested, dirty, and just not my vibe, but I’d love to see cool landmarks and learn some new things!

There you go! I hope you found this post inspiring and/or helpful! If you have any other places you like to go, feel free to drop them in the comments below!
