Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! I had a wonderful month! My mental health is getting better by the month, and this month held a huge step for me. Not to mention, I had numerous fun memories made in this month. My word for May 2024 is “restoration.”

– Restoration –
[ res – tuh – rey – shuhn ]
DEFINITION: restitution of something taken away or lost; the state or fact of being restored.

– Dental Work –
For a while now, I’ve had to get a permanent crown put over the tooth on which I had a root canal years ago. I had two appointments this month regarding that; one to get a mold/size of my tooth and to put a temporary one on, and a second to put the permanent crown on. This was my first time getting a big operation done at my new dentist office (I grew out of my pediatric dentist), and I was surprised when I didn’t get “happy air” (nitrous oxide). I usually try and catch a nap during procedures, but, alas, I couldn’t with either of these. However, I am glad to finally have that sorted out!
– Live Shows –
Spring seems to be show season. I went to some more shows this past month; two plays and one of my little sister’s baton performances! The first play was The Kite Runner which was so much more heart-wrenching and sobering than I thought, especially with the recent wars going on in the Middle East. The other play I watched was Radium Girls, and a friend of mine was actually in it! It was also a heart-wrenching production, but it had a lot more humor in it, which I always enjoy. My sister’s baton performance was one that I had done when I twirled baton. It’s part of a flea market event hosted by a local church, so it was fun to explore the market after watching her perform; I got a rubber wristband and a duck umbrella!
– Arts & Crafts –
I painted some pottery at my work twice this month! The first time was actually part of a work meeting. We were learning a bunch of new skills and techniques by actually doing them, and it felt like I was just painting with a bunch of friends! I loved it. The second time was when I had to finish my mushroom house that I had painted with my younger brother last month. I joined a friend of mine who was already painting, and I finally finished! I’m happy with the finished product, I just hope it turns out even better when it’s fired…
– Missouri –
Buckle up, this might be a long one. So, long story short, two folks in my friend group were getting married, and they were both from Missouri, so that’s where their wedding was. After start to write this section and slowly seeing how long it became, I decided I’ll be making this trip it’s own post in the next month or so (so stayed tuned!) But, overall, this trip was a wonderful time spent celebrating my friends’ union, fellowshipping under one roof, and lots of silliness in between. Because of how well this trip went, some of us started brainstorming about potential trips in the future 👀👀
– Memorial Day –
I kind of celebrated Memorial Day twice and both days were jam-packed. Sunday, May 26th was the first day where we had morning church, a lunch afterward (to see our pastor and his family off before their sabbatical), then my family hosted a cookout at our house! The cookout was the longest part, lasting from around 3:00pm until 11:00pm! Now, luckily, it was just my friends, otherwise I would have been beyond exhausted…
Memorial Day itself started off with a parade in our town (in which my little sister’s baton troop twirled), then a neighborhood picnic in the park, then a friend picked me up to go celebrate with some other folks in another park! Luckily, I had a bit of downtime between each activity, but it was still a crazy day 😅

>> How Can I Pray For You In June? <<
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
