Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning, afternoon, or evening! This month was great. Between developing a proper schedule for myself and going to many fun festivals and events, I felt delighted. My word for this September 2022 is “joyous.”
– joyous –

– Baby Shower –
One of my friends is having a baby! If you read my 20 Baby Shower Gift Ideas post, you’ll have read that I went to two baby showers in the span of a week. One of them was at the beginning of September for a friend of my sister and me. Before we arrived, My older sister and I ran to Target to buy the gifts, and we couldn’t find any proper baby shower bags, so I ended up using a Birthday-themed Minecraft bag since we play Minecraft with our mama-to-be friend (you can see the photo below). It ended up being a great time, and I even won a little competition and received some lotions and soap!
– Renaissance Festival –
I went to my first Renaissance Festival!!! I adore Celtic music, fantasy, and pretty much anything else associated with a Renaissance Festival, so I was beyond pumped to go. ALSO, I was going with a group of friends and dressed up, which made it so much better! I bought a dagger (see the pictures below) and a dragon claw ring, and a Lord of the Rings “One Ring” fidget ring (do a push-up for every time I said “ring” in that sentence…). I also saw a jousting tournament, a fire-breather, and some great music. I tried to take as many videos as possible throughout my time there, and you can watch my vlog below in the “YouTube Videos” section!
– Asian Lantern Festival –
I just expected some fancy lights in the sky… not the marvelous and almost never-ending display of giant light-up dinosaurs, flowers, and more spread throughout the zoo… It was amazing. One of my friends shared this event with us (which happened to be the evening that followed the Renaissance Festival—one of my friends even kept on his kilt), and a fair group of us went to the festival. I accidentally scared a pair of strangers who were walking in front of us because I wanted to jump onto a dinosaur paw spotlight. They were still walking on it, I saw the pretty light, let my intrusive thoughts win, and I jumped very hard onto the ground literally right behind them… it was a little embarrassing, not gonna lie… I am honestly surprised I never choked on air since I kept gasping at the beautiful lights. You can see some fun photos I took while at the zoo below!
– Church Events –
The young adult Bible studies have started up again at my church! Although they can make me anxious due to all the people (and the occasional dead social battery), I truly enjoy studying the Bible, meditating on it, and hanging around a great group of peers. There was also a women’s event that I helped set up and attended that was full of racing and active games. I scored 3rd in a spoon-and-egg race with one of my teammates and won first in a tie-breaking wheelbarrow race with another teammate. I also got some hot apple cider at the end, which was the cherry on top. These, as well as other random events that have gone on in my church, are happenings that I’m always looking forward to each week.

The Three Musketeers
– action, swashbuckler, comedy
– first-time watching
– MY REVIEW: I decided on a whim to watch this movie simply because I randomly saw it on Disney Plus. I actually kinda liked it. It had a bit of blood, and I didn’t really like one of the main characters, but there were lots of funny lines, cool backstories, and a good plot that I did enjoy. I give this movie a 7/10!
Treasure Planet
– action, children’s film, science fiction
– first-time watching
– MY REVIEW: I tried watching this movie a while ago but couldn’t get through it. However, I tried again. It was okay. I didn’t really like a few things about the plot, and I didn’t like all the weird creatures, either. There were some funny and good moments, though. I don’t think I’ll watch it again unless it’s with some friends. I give this movie a 5/10!
How To Train Your Dragon 2
– action, fantasy, adventure
– third- or fourth-time watching (?)
– MY REVIEW: I LOVE THESE MOVIES! The third one is ultimately my favorite, but I still absolutely adore the other two. I cried while watching this movie because I realized a song they played during a certain part, and I bawled like a baby. However, I freaking love these movies. I give this a 10/10!
Hacksaw Ridge
– war, drama, historical fiction
– first-time watching
– MY REVIEW: It was so good. My dad and younger brothers were going to watch this movie, and I decided to hop in. I knew nothing about it except that Andrew Garfield was in it. It’s a historical fiction about Desmond Doss, a Christian man who joined the army but refused to pick up a weapon. It was so good. I loved seeing a recreation of how God empowered Doss and gave him the strength to keep rescuing soldiers and to keep pushing through despite the terrible circumstances. There is a lot of blood and gore in this movie which unnerved me, but I give this a 9/10!
Mulan
– musical, historical fiction, children’s film
– third-time watching (?)
– MY REVIEW: My favorite Disney princess. I love Mulan. I watched this with some friends during a Disney movie night and had a great time. There are so many good lines, a great plot, and literally all the songs are fire. I just love this movie. I give it a 10/10!
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
– musical, romance, children’s film
– third-time watching
– MY REVIEW: I also watched this movie during a Disney movie night with friends. The songs are great, I absolutely hate Frollo, I adore Esmeralda and Phoebus, and the gargoyles are hilarious. I love pretty much everything about this movie if I’ll be honest, except for Frollo. I literally hate that character so much. I give this movie a 9/10!
