Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning/afternoon/evening! This week was pretty chill. From writing at least 10,000 words in my WIP to dissecting a fetal pig, I’d say it went pretty well! How about you?
On Sunday, I woke up at the good early hour of 1:45 pm. Later that afternoon, I went to a meeting about an upcoming mission trip that I’m attending this summer, and it got me very excited! I’ve gone on this trip for the past five years or so, and I have adored it every single year. You can read about my last trip here! When I got home that evening, I did some blog work and ate for the first time that day… at around 6:00 pm… oopsie. I redrew a character from one of my WIPs and was very happy with how it turned out! I haven’t drawn in forever, so it was a really nice way to get back into it and feed that artistic part of me. At the end of the night (a.k.a. midnight), I finished my to-do list! Yeah, it only took me all day, but I did it!
On Monday, in my first-period class, we began reading through a book of “adulting tips” called Adulting: How To Become a Grown-up in 535 Easy(ish) Steps. Reading this book led us down a ton of interesting and funny discussions, and I’m really enjoying the class right now. During Theology class, I came up with a new quote, “there may not be any good at the moment, but there’s always hope for the good that is yet to come.” I just think it’s pretty neat. Later that day, during my normal fifth-period study hall, I joined the AP Biology class and dissected a pig with one of my friends. We just cut it open that day, and I touched some insides… how lovely. When I got home, I drew for a bit but had to leave for baton early since my sister Briana’s class was right before mine. During my time of waiting, I redrew another character from my WIP just in time to go to my class. After my class, I began thinking about choreography for a solo routine since this is my last year of baton twirling. I’ll be performing it during our final performance of that year in June.
On Tuesday, we started the day off pretty messy. We had a substitute bus driver, but they drove by our stop either super early or super late… my siblings and I were waiting there for twenty minutes. It turns out that the driver messed up everyone’s stops because only one kid arrived at school on the bus that day. The day was pretty chill; during first period, we talked about moving and furniture buying, in second period, we learned about stocks (it was veeeerrryy confusing), and in third period, the school counselor came by to talk to us and gave us coloring sheets! By the end of the day, I ended up being really hungry and kind of tired, but sadly, I didn’t have any food. However, when I got home, I got some food and saw that my photo prints from Walmart had arrived! (woohoo!) I organized them and even made a little high school memories scrapbook, all for my upcoming graduation party. With my snazzy new camera, I filmed a school project for my little brother (and later edited it), then my family ate some Panera for dinner! I had the Caprese sandwich, but part of the bread was too hard for me to chew with my braces… we did get broccoli cheddar soup (which was soooo good), and I got a peach/blueberry smoothie, which is one of my all-time favorite items on the menu.
On Wednesday, I did some blog work and such, but the main attraction was more pig dissection! That afternoon, I, along with two others, learned about the various organs of a pig. It was really odd but also very fascinating, to say the least. I left shortly after that for physical therapy, which ended up being really short and sweet, fortunately. I came home a bit earlier than usual and was pretty productive before leaving for my church’s youth group that evening. At youth group, everyone (including the leaders) put rubber bands around their ankles and stuck plastic spoons in them. We then pulled names and learned that throughout the entire night, we had to somehow take the spoon of the person whose name we pulled. I got my target relatively quickly, which I was happy about, but I still worried about who had drawn my name and was wary of everyone. However, I hung out with one of my friends the entire time, and in the end, it turned out that she had my name! I narrowly escaped her spoon-snatching move but was later got in a free-for-all by my younger brother. When I got home that evening, my sisters (and older brother occasionally) watched Brave!
On Thursday, I worked on one of my WIPs throughout the entire day. I ended up finishing a chapter with around 5,700 words! I ordered some clothes for my graduation ceremony/party and was even able to edit my new YouTube video before work (you can view it here!) Yeah… not much else happened that day…
On Friday, I had quite a few study halls where I worked on one of my WIPs; fun fact: I wrote another 5,000 or so words! In second period, we finished the pig dissection, and I held intestines, cut open the heart, and really sort of messed up the brain. It was fun 👍 During gym class after lunch, I ran A TON, and sort of broke my legs, so that was also pretty fun and cool. At work that night, I started off taking orders to cover someone’s break, but I ended up being outside for nearly two hours. I later went inside to make drinks which was a lot better; I worked beside a co-worker I had never talked to, and we got along pretty well! When I got home, I was going to do some work, but then I got distracted on TikTok and wasted about thirty minutes before going to bed.
On Saturday, I was supposed to wake up early and help my sister decorate a cake. News flash: I didn’t… I fell back asleep and ended up waking up at around noon. I didn’t do much on the cake; I only made a jellybean path, made little mushrooms, and ate about half the candy. Yay! At work that afternoon/evening, I took orders pretty much the entire night. I wanted to train my younger sister, but she never got the “OK” to start training, sadly. I ended up getting a headache during the last half, but I was talking to and working beside one of my friends at the end, so it wasn’t that bad. However, when I got home, my headache was killing me, but my sisters and I were fooling around, so it didn’t exactly help.
That concludes my week! I hope you all had wonderful weeks as well; feel free to even share some highlights of your own in the comments below! I hope we all have amazing weeks ahead of us and that we find something magical in every day. As always, keep on inspiring folks and loving yourself!
The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.
