Weekly Recap 5.9.21 – 5.15.21

,

Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning/afternoon/evening! From new nicknames at work to messing up my hamstring during gym class, I’d say that this week was pretty fun. Now, without further ado, I hope you enjoy my little recap!

On Sunday, I woke up feeling sort of gross, which was a bummer because it was Mother’s Day. However, I felt better later in the day, which was good because my family and I visited my grandmother! Aside from my school’s musical, it was my first time seeing my grandparents and aunt since Christmas Eve. We talked and laughed for about an hour or so, and I loved it. When we got home later that day, I reminisced with my older siblings about past musicals and performances we’ve been in. It’s odd to think that I’ve now done my last musical with my school. Later, I was working on some blog work and such but found myself FALLING ASLEEP. Like, reeeaaaally falling asleep. So, I ordered some Panera through DoorDash and got myself some coffee, mac ‘n’ cheese, and a bun. Panera’s caramel latte is immaculate; I just have to say… That night, I watched How To Train Your Dragon with my sisters. If you should know anything about me, it’s that I ADORE those movies. I love them in a way that is inexpressible with words.

On Monday, I did A LOT of major blog work throughout the day. I did a whole blog revamp and changed some designs and visuals; you may notice a new banner, signature, post covers, and some more little changes throughout my blog. I had study halls nearly the entire day, and my only class was Theology which was just a discussion about the book we’re reading. When I got home, I got a lot done and felt suuuuper productive. In fact, I completed my To-Do list! One of those items was ‘edit video,’ and I found some really neat software to edit my YouTube videos. That night, I went to my baton-twirling class for the first time in about 6-7 months, a.k.a. since before I hurt my shoulder, a.k.a since OCTOBER 2020. It was really fun, and I forgot how much I really like twirling baton. I learned two new whole-troop routines, and I’ll even be choreographing a short part of a pom-pom routine with my sisters. When I got home, my mind was on a roll, and I ended up choreographing the piece right then and there. When I finished that, I watched How To Train Your Dragon 2 with my sisters… I think that’s one of my favorite movies of all time.

On Tuesday, I had to run my school’s morning snack cart alone, but it wasn’t too bad. Unlike most days, I didn’t have kids coming back-to-back, and I had some downtime. My first period that day was a study hall again, and I worked on my WIP for a bit. In my second period (math class), we finished the last lesson in the book and had a study hall for the rest of the time. In my third period, we talked about some moral issues and stuff, and it really got me thinking hard about certain topics. During lunchtime and the last two periods of my day, I worked on my WIP and got two whole chapters done. At home, I finished editing my new YouTube video and uploaded it. (You can watch it here!) I watched some miscellaneous YouTube videos and, at night, watched How To Train Your Dragon: Hidden World with my sisters. I ADORE that movie, but it never fails to make me at least tear up.

On Wednesday, I got a lot of behind-the-scenes work for my books done and sprinkled in a bit of blog work as well. I had an early dismissal that day because of a physical therapy appointment. Honestly, I can’t for it to be over. I ended up getting home about an hour earlier than I would have if I was still at school, which I was thankful for. During that extra time, I got some MAJOR book work done. I revisited an old book idea I had back in 2017 and began refining and organizing all the behind-the-scenes stuff for that story. I’m actually very excited to start writing it again, and you can even learn about it more on the My Writings page! I sprinkled in some more blog work and later read some chapters of one of my books to my little brothers, and they both fell asleep. I’m not sure if that’s a good sign or a bad sign… That night, my sister, Briana, made some snow cone syrup, and I was there for “moral support.” We ended up taking a trip down memory lane and played some Polly Pocket games and makeover games that we played when we were like, ten.

On Thursday, I did some more blog work throughout the day. In my second-period math class, we went over a chapter review and finished the math book officially. During my third period, one of my classmates ordered Arby’s, and my teacher put the classroom on lockdown so nobody could go down to the office and pick it up. However, the office called the student down, and during lunch, he and his friend got their food. It reminded me of when my older brother talked about how he ordered pizza in the middle of one of his college classes. During my fifth-period class, Literature, I took a test and spent the rest of the period in study hall. I learned some new jokes while working on a future blog post, and some of them are actually really funny, I just have to say. Later that day, at work, my friend came up with a new nickname for me because of my ginger hair. Little Red Riding Hood… yeah, he’s an interesting cookie. It didn’t help that I was wearing a red hoodie either.

On Friday, I had… you guessed it, more study halls! During my first period, I reminisced with a teacher about past work experiences, and he shared some pretty funny stories about when he worked in a movie theater. During gym class, I actually participated! Yay me! Due to my shoulder and various school events, I hadn’t actually done much in gym class whenever we had it, but I actually did something this week! We ran around the field initially, and I ran a total of 1 1/2 laps; that’s my cardio for the entire month, just sayin’. We played gaga ball, and I always got out in the dumbest ways because I’m just cool like that, I guess. I realized that I somehow hurt my hamstring during gym and walked with a slight limp for a while afterward. During my sixth period, I drew with two of my friends, and we hosted a poll on who drew the best ‘s’. I got one vote, and I’m pretty sure it was my own. At home, I decided that I’m going to rewrite the manuscript of my novel for the EIGHTH TIME. I’m in the process of trying to publish that book and, upon rereading it, I realized that there is still room for improvement in it, so here I go. I always say that a book is never finished until it’s published and in the bookstores. That afternoon, I vibed to some music as I worked on the first chapter. The story itself is complete; all I’m doing in this rewrite is to be more descriptive, make the dialogue less awkward/blocky, and really work on making this story more enjoyable to read for my readers. I had work that evening which certainly wasn’t as bad as yesterday’s shift. I spoke to a coworker that I had never spoken to before, and she seemed like a very nice and fun person! When I got home that night, my mind was still buzzing, and I ended up finishing the first chapter of my book’s manuscript!

On Saturday, I woke up pretty early and went to a Spring brunch with some women from my church. They served Chick-Fil-A catered trays, and I ate some really good cookies. At my table, I also spoke to some people that I had never really talked to before, and it was actually really nice. Since I have a big family, I was given leftovers to take home, and when I got home, I organized them all in our fridge and ate some more before getting ready for work. At work that afternoon/evening, I was bagging! I was bagging food and orders for most of my shift, and it was pretty stressful at times. One time, the leader for that night told me to take a break and stand in the walk-in fridge and count to 120. One of my coworkers came in after being told to keep me company, and we found a large tea bag wrapped in saran wrap just sitting on a shelf. Turns out someone was keeping it to use for compost later…. fast food is weird. During my break that night, I video called my siblings through a group chat that my sisters and I have, and that definitely put a smile on my face. We were messing around with filters and such, and I found a really weird Baby Yoda filter. When I got home that day, I had to drive my car into our driveway, but I didn’t know how to, and my dad had to be there with me since I still have my permit. He showed me how to do a three-point turn and pull in, and not to brag, but I kinda nailed it, just sayin’.

That concludes my week! I hope you all had splendid weeks as well; feel free to even share some of your own highlights in the comments below! Let’s hope we all have wonderful weeks ahead of us and that we find something magical in every day. As always, keep on inspiring others and loving yourself!
