Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning/afternoon/evening! This week was pretty slumpy, and I didn’t feel too good about it, but at least it’s over now. I had a few busy days this week where I wasn’t home for about fifteen hours, and other days where I couldn’t find enough to do. Nonetheless, I can’t wait to see what this new weeks holds in store!
Sunday was Easter Sunday! My parents set out Easter baskets for us, kids, but I went to church before I got a good look at them. Once we got home, I realized that in my Easter basket, there were jelly beans and little malted chocolate balls… I knew both were gonna be ROUGH on my braces… that was fun. Some neighbors came over and ate a mid-afternoon Easter lunch with us, and we were joined by my brother, who came home from college for the day. I ended up eating A LOT, and about half of my meal was these little bread rolls that our neighbors brought. I had fun talking to everyone, but eventually, my social battery ran out, and I went to my room for the remainder of the afternoon/evening. However, that night, my sisters and I watched more of The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, but we talked through most of it. We put each character into a school stereotype. Like, Pippin would be that one kid that has to hold the teacher’s hand in the hallways, and Gollum would be the kid that puts his mouth on the water fountain. I thought it was really funny.
Monday was my last day of Easter break, and I spent quite a bit of that day sitting in bed playing video games. I watched YouTube for a while and ate some Easter candy before enjoying some nice, fresh air. It was quite beautiful outside, and the weather was perfect, so I really took advantage of the nice weather. I filmed a new YouTube video (check it out here!) and did some planning! My sisters and I finished watching The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, and I felt sort of icky by the end of the day. In bed, I began watching a video of Rome’s entire history because why not, but I only got through an hour of that three-hour-long video.
Tuesday was my first day back at school, and it was pretty enjoyable. However, during second period, I forgot I had math class and accidentally went to my second-period study hall rather than math… oopsie. Math class ended an hour early, and I got some good time to work on my WIP. During third period, my teacher asked a ton of existential questions, and I WAS NOT here for that. I don’t think about life; I simply vibe in it. Thank you very much. Somehow I messed up my back really bad, and it hurt during musical rehearsal, which was not white-hot awesomeness. In the middle of rehearsal, one of my co-stars and I went to another room for a Zoom meeting concerning a high school musical award show finale. When I got home, I began working on some stuff (I don’t remember what exactly) until one of my siblings told me about a surprise… we got guinea pigs. I didn’t want to hold them because they’re kinda gross, and one peed on my mom. No thank you. That night, my sisters and I watched The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, and afterward, my sister, Briana, and I spent a good hour or so fooling around doing some stretches for my back on her bedroom floor.
On Wednesday, I was feeling pretty great. I did my first-period homework during my second-period study hall and felt productive. I did a lot of online browsing and planning throughout the day and had a case of head-empty, no-thoughts, so I didn’t get much of my WIP done. During musical rehearsal, we ran through some Act I scenes. After dinner, I drew a bit and created ADORABLE little drawings. I was ‘rejected’ by some guy on Snapchat, too, which was interesting, to say the least. He added me, I added him, he sent a picture, I sent a picture. However, before he opened my snap, he viewed my stories (which can be odd, I suppose), and he unadded me… R.I.P. to that, I guess. I told me hard tale on a Discord channel that I joined recently because I didn’t really have anyone else to vent to, and the folks there were super welcoming and friendly, and I felt so loved. 10/10 would recommend.
On Thursday, we talked about language and related topics during my first-period class, and I concluded that language is such a beautiful thing. During math class, we learned about stocks, but everything went right over my head. I tried on a dress for the musical during lunch, but it was way too big, and I felt a bit embarrassed having to walk through the hallway wearing it. In Literature, we began reading Macbeth, but I had to leave early to go to physical therapy. I used some of the cool equipment at therapy and got even more new exercises to do on my shoulder. I went back to school afterward since I had musical rehearsal that afternoon. Just like Tuesday, my co-star and I had to leave to attend another Zoom meeting for the award show finale. I had to my first shift back at work that day which wasn’t entirely bad. It was awfully boring and dull at first, but it picked up by the end of the night. My hair got caught in a nail on the door at one point, and two of my friends joined me to help. One ended up grabbing the hair and gently lifting it off the nail… much ado about nothing, I guess. When I got home, my sisters and I watched more of The Lord of the Rings, and I held one of the guinea pigs for the first time. He was in a blanket because I still refuse to hold the actual guinea pig, but it still counts.
Friday was another long day like Thursday, and in the morning, I was rushing around trying to gather everything for the day ahead. I worked on my WIP throughout the day at school and was so focused that I even missed art class. After school, I practiced a song during rehearsal that my teacher had adjusted the key to, and now I feel A LOT more confident about it *cue happiness* I had musical rehearsal during fourth and seventh period as well as after school, so, overall, I had around four hours of rehearsal that day. How fun. Work went well that night, but for some reason, I ate something that left me feeling AWFUL, and I went to bed as soon as I got home.
I got my hair dyed on Saturday! I’m ultimately getting it dyed ginger for the musical this year, but we split the process into two appointments, so on Saturday, it was dyed blonde to prepare for the ginger. I had to wake up super early for my appointment and ended up being late for work because the rest of my family was getting haircuts. At work, I got many compliments from various girls around the restaurant, but all of my guy friends failed to recognize me at first. One friend, in fact, said he would start calling me ‘Elsa’ like from Frozen, and when I got my hair dyed ginger, he would start calling me ‘Cinnamon.’ This also happens to be the same friend who calls me ‘Crippled’ because of my shoulder. He’s a special cookie. After work, Briana and I ate some of our food outside as a mini picnic and took a pretty picture of my hair. I watched a bit of YouTube and played some games, but I felt exhausted and went to bed early at 9:30.
That concludes my week! I hope you all had lovely weeks as well, and feel free to share some highlights in the comments below. I pray we all have splendid times ahead of us and that we find something magical in every day! As always, keep on inspiring folks and loving yourself!
