Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a lovely morning/afternoon/evening! I felt like this past week went by so slowly, but now it’s suddenly over. This week was my school’s spring break, so I enjoyed the slowness, but suddenly I’m going back to school (virtually) tomorrow. What the heck? Where did the time go?
On Sunday, my family was separated during church, and my parents sat further back in the pews while I sat with my four youngest siblings. It was pretty chaotic, especially when I have three brothers, one of which is really getting into practicing his writing. If you have younger brothers, I’m sure you can imagine all the silly potty words they’re just itching to write and make sentences with. Anyway, after church, the rest of the day was chill. I played a few games here and there and finally picked up Minecraft again, although that only lasted about five minutes. Later that night, my sisters and I finished Ella Enchanted with some snackies.
Monday, the official first-day-of-spring-break, my sisters and I had to wake up early. I had no problem with it because I prefer to wake up early; otherwise, I feel like I’m wasting the day. My mom took me and my sisters to a braces consultation at 9:00 am that day. We ended up staying there for about two hours, talking about each of us and our various problems. How fun. At the end of the appointment, we decided that my younger sister and I would get our spacers in that day, and we would get braces/expanders next week, Wednesday (by the time I’m writing this, that’s only three days away!) As we were leaving, we also got free t-shirts from the orthodontist’s office, which pretty much made my morning. I’d do anything for a free t-shirt. When we arrived home, my sister and I decided to put on our matching t-shirts and had lunch. I didn’t feel like having solid food because of the new, odd feeling in my mouth due to the spacers, so I made a strawberry-banana milkshake! My older sister made one with orange juice, honey, milk, and vanilla extract. Yeah, it tasted like watered-down orange juice, but I had one of the earlier drafts. As my sister experimented more, it ended up tasting better, according to her. My spacers were hurting on/off throughout the day, and I made myself some hot chocolate to try and cheer up. I ended up feeling super tired and took a shower to wake myself up, but in that time, my family decided to start watching Big Bang Theory. Without me. Thanks, fam. However, later that evening, my sisters and I watched about five episodes of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir, so I wasn’t too sour at the end of the day.

On Tuesday, I woke up early, around 8:00 am or so, but didn’t actually get out of bed until around 10:30. Not much happened that day. I edited a few videos, I worked out with my youngest sister (that was interesting, to say the least), and I did some blog work. During dinner that evening, my mom introduced this creepy story of a doll named Robert to my younger sister and me. I don’t believe in “hauntings” or ghosts, so I was pretty unfazed. In fact, my sister and I were just making a ton of jokes about it and laughing over the stories. That night, my sisters and I watched some Buzzfeed: Unsolved, and I ended up going to bed scared and worried. I think I awoke at around four in the morning, terrified of this Bobby doll (I won’t elaborate, but if you wanna learn more about him, just research Robert the doll). I ended up reciting Psalm 4:8 (“In peace, I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.”) over and over again to reassure myself and try to fall asleep again. Man, the middle of the night anxiety is not fun, let me tell you.
Wednesday was very exciting. The previous night, my mom had told us, girls, that the family was taking a surprise trip to the zoo Wednesday afternoon. We were going to leave around 1:00 or so, so naturally, I woke up at 11:20. I wanted to braid my hair, something that had not been done since before my surgery, but I thought I couldn’t. I was wrong… I can move my shoulder enough to style my hair again!! Anyway, we left for the zoo around one o’clock, and I got A TON of fun pictures. I bought a long-sleeved shirt and some friendship bracelets to match my sisters in the aquarium gift shop (I got a silver one with a turtle charm :)). In the monkey house, my sister and I watched two orangutans start fighting and fall in their exhibit, which was pretty wild. Neither of us are dancers, but we attempted to do a little TikTok dance for the monkeys. Yes, they probably enjoyed it. No, I do not have any more dignity to lose from doing a TikTok dance. When we got back home, I had about an hour or so to myself before leaving for my church’s youth group. I couldn’t play the game due to my shoulder, but I was able to talk to a friend for the first time in a while, which was really lovely. Once we got back home, my family and I watched the movie Oddball and ate my mom’s homemade seafood pizza.

On Thursday, I didn’t get up until around 11:00 or so again. I thought that I would complete yesterday’s To-Do List today, but I did virtually nothing. My youngest sister made me tea (she’s seven), and it was delicious, although I did have to heat it up once she finished. In the morning/early afternoon, I went through some choreography with my mother, who’s choreographing our musical, while eating some yummy strawberry oatmeal. I spent the rest of the day figuring out if I could make an app… yeah, in the end, it was too complicated, so I wasted a few long hours of my life… how fun. However, I made some room for LOTS of creative work in between all that I did today. That night, I watched only one episode of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir.
On Friday, I had a really nice, early start to my day. I woke up at 8:45 from a dream of me playing basketball. It was odd, considering the fact that I am extraordinarily awful at basketball and have only played once. I also woke up to my phone’s theme being complete. The night before, I began changing my phone’s theme to Spring (I couldn’t wait until March 20th), and I must have finished it right before I fell asleep because I DO NOT remember finishing it. Anyway, as I went upstairs, I saw that youngest sister was sunbathing on the living room floor in the light from the big windows. It was an interesting start to the day. I did a lot of creative work, including working on some yearbook pages for my school’s yearbook committee. Working out with my youngest sister is beginning to be a habit, but it makes exercise more enjoyable, honestly. Later that night, I made stuffing with my sister, and she made me some hot chocolate. We learned that we are a little too obsessed over the song “Dinosaurs Eating People” and played that a few too many times on repeat. I didn’t end up going to bed until around 1:00 in the morning, but… I completed my ToDo List that day!! (woohoo!)

Saturday was exciting, but by the end of the day, I was pretty exhausted. I didn’t do much until about 10:40, when I helped my mom make two sweet potato pies. The pies and the stuffing (from Friday) were made in preparation for the Thanksgiving-in-March dinner we had with our two neighbors across the street. We had turkey, mashed potatoes, cheesy cauliflower, and stuffing. I had way too much to eat, but Thanksgiving food is my favorite food; what can I say? That night, I finished revisions and the read-through of my WIP, ‘The Star of Juino’ (which you can now read more about on my newest page: My Writings) and continuing my journey to publication!

That concludes my week! A few days had nonstop happenings, while other days were pretty chill. I’d call that a nice balance of events if you ask me. I hope you all had terrific weeks as well, and feel free to share some highlights about your week in the comments! As always, keep on inspiring folks and loving yourself!
