Another week checked off in the book! This week was pretty eventful. I did a little something every day, which was nice because I often find myself feeling as though I’m wasting the day or simply wasting away, not doing anything. Long story short: I’m proud of how much I did this week. Additionally, I actually kept track of what I did each day so I wouldn’t be rambling on, trying to remember 🙂
On Monday, I worked a lot on my work in progress, and I created a poll on my Instagram (@calboylieer if y’know what I mean ;). It was a poll concerning a certain landscape/vibe of a place in my book. Confession time: I actually forgot to check the poll results on Monday, so I had to do it again on Tuesday.
Tuesday, I had to go to the dentist with most of my siblings, which was pretty hectic (I have eight siblings, seven at home, so you can kind of get an idea). Also, I hate the dentist. I hate their little scraper thing that feels like they’re about to pull my teeth out, and I’m just not a fan of the vibe. As I expressed my worry to my youngest sister (aged seven), she was reassuring me because she just got back from her check-up. “All they actually do is literally like…” she’s pretty verbose. That night at work, one of my friends who worked in the kitchen gave me extra chicken on my salad and extra medium fries, which was pretty exciting!
I remembered to check the poll results on Wednesday! (yay me!) Now, I’m gonna keep the other details a secret, no spoilers, of course, but keep your eye out for a grey, misty, spoOoOky realm when my book comes out! I was pretty productive for the rest of Wednesday. I did some blog prep/scheduling, and… I had my first musical rehearsal of the year!! I am super excited that my school is still trying to work out a musical, and I hope we can go through with it. The theater kid in me will be quite sad if I don’t have a musical my senior year. However, my soprano voice was on vacation or something during rehearsal because, let me just say, my singing was NOT on point…
On Thursday, we had a half-day at school, which would make you think I got a lot done at home, not really… Now, I did do something. I baked cupcakes and cookie pops (pictured below), but they took up my entire afternoon before I had to go to work. On a brighter side, I finished almost my entire to-do list for that day so go me! Oh yeah, I also burnt my thumb and index finger while baking, and I couldn’t feel the tips of them for the next few days.

Friday, my younger sister and I had a mini movie night! Neither of us had ever seen Sharkboy and Lavagirl (I know, I know, did we even have a childhood? Perhaps). Anyway, I honestly was dead tired that night because I had gotten home from work, and it was about eleven at night, so we only got through maybe half of the movie. I couldn’t tell if I was dreaming the weird stuff in my drowsy estate or if it was really happening in the movie, but no matter what, I’m undecided whether or not I’ll try to finish the film.
Saturday was a really chill day. I worked on my book some more and even ordered some delivery food with a gift card I had sitting around. I got some mozzarella sticks and onion rings from Applebee’s, which made my stomach gurgle throughout the rest of the day, but I’d say it was worth it, the food was good. While I worked that afternoon, I began listening to a podcast I’d been meaning to listen to for a while. It’s called ‘Soggy Pancakes’ on Spotify, and it’s hosted by two boys around my age, and they play little games such as Would You Rather, trivia, as well as various discussions. Then, the cherry on top of the day: I, along with my parents, had a meeting over the phone about a college-alternative author’s program, which was really exciting.
Sunday, I watched the movie Atlantis for the first time! Again: did you even have a childhood? Yeah, we just never watched that movie for some reason. Anyway, I really liked it! I began watching maybe the first minute of the second movie before realizing that I still had to write this blog post. You can all assume what I’ll be doing as soon as this post goes up…
Earlier in the afternoon, my sister drew a fake tattoo on me, which I’m stoked about. It hasn’t faded in quite yet, but the outline-ish part is just visible, and it looks so cool already! I had her write ‘family’ in Elder Futhark runes with some neat details around it.
Now, before I ramble your ears off (or really your eyes), I’m going to sign off. I hope you all had a wonderful week yourselves, and tune back in next week for another recap AND a special blog post! Keep on inspiring folks and loving yourself!
